Pick your own strawberry season is finished

The pick our own strawberries patch is now closed. Now we wait for the little newly planted runners to do lots of growing, all ready for late October when the next season starts. To everyone who came and picked strawberries this season, thanks for visiting and see you next year!

At least a couple of weeks of Strawberry Season to go

Even after a hugely busy Easter here at Beerenberg, there are still strawberries out there to be picked. Robert our Farm Manager reckons there’s still a couple of weeks left in the season, but do stay tuned as the weather is changing and this affects the ripening process.

With the warmer weather, the strawberries are really good at the moment and it’s a great time for picking. People are coming back from the patch with punnets overflowing with huge red strawberries!

We’ve taken our Caramelised Onion, added a blend of spices and a touch of chilli to create a warm and indulgent relish for those who enjoy a little spice with their favourite BBQ meat.

Strawberry report from our Farm Manager

I asked Robert today to describe the condition of the strawberries at the moment and he said “wet”. So there you go. As well as being wet, they are looking good and there are plenty out there to pick. You will just have to bring your wet weather gear along.

Don’t wear your best shoes

The patch is open for pick your own and the strawberries are still going strong. We’ve had a bit of rain of the last couple of days though so don’t wear your best shoes when you come picking!

Sorry about this everyone. The strawberries are in the process of recovery from all the humidity we’ve had. The patch will be open for pick your own again on Thursday.
